About Us Ariey Pools was established in 1964 by Ed Ariey, a pioneer in the pool industry.  Ed started by cleaning pools, then moved onto repairs and finally new pool construction after earning his C-53 contractor’s license.  From the beginning, Ed knew that the pool business needed to be organized as a profession, so he started the first Independent Pool and Spa Service Association (IPSSA)* chapter in Bakersfield in the early 1980’s and served as its first president.  Ed belongs to numerous charities and organizations and through these organizations has given much back to the community. Jon Ariey is Ed’s son and has been in the pool business over twenty years.  Jon earned a bachelors degree and also holds a separate C-53 contractors license.  Jon specializes in resurfacing pools using a specialized method that he developed.
